New Britain, CT – New Britain Youth Theater will open its 2015-16 season with Winnie the Pooh on November 20, 21 and 22, at the New Britain-Berlin YMCA at 50 High Street.

Winnie the Pooh is a stage adaptation based on characters in A.A. Milne’s classic books Winnie-the-Pooh, The House at Pooh Corner, When We Were Very Young, and Now We Are Six (a nod to NBYT’s sixth season). In the play, Pooh finds himself involved in all sorts of frantic adventures, assisted by such friends as the dismal Eeyore, best friend Piglet, and Rabbit with his band of friends and relations. Pooh’s intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and other sweets keeps getting him into trouble! When Kanga ropes Piglet into taking a bath (with soap!) and forcing down spoonfuls of Strengthening Medicine, Pooh wants to fly to the rescue, but he's had so many snacks he gets stuck in a doorway! The play stars children ages 6 through 9 from throughout Connecticut, and it is appropriate for audiences of all ages. The production is directed by Brooke Ferguson and Christina LoBello.

Winnie the Pooh will be performed at the New Britain-Berlin YMCA, located at 50 High Street, in downtown New Britain. Performances are Friday, November 20, at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, November 21, at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, November 22, at 2:00 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children, students, and seniors. Tickets may be reserved by calling New Britain Youth Theater at 860-515-8115 or may be purchased online at
